I loved that Sparky Ming Ming allowed me to come to school with her and capture her life in Grade 2. Grade 2? Yes. Grade 2. Seriously where does the time go?

We met with her teacher Miss Callaghan, and she was more than happy to let us capture this age and grade at school. Meleah really likes her teacher and was excited to do photos in her class. She showed me around the school with such pride.

Meleah has a variety of personality traits that I adore about her.

:funny
:sentimental
:rock n roll girl - very musical
:aspiring, ambitious, motivated
:cheerful
:thoughtful

...and the thing I love the most, is that she gives the VERY best hugs!

When Janice, my sweet friend, from many years ago, asked me to do a family shoot, I was a bit excited. Ok a lot excited. I knew she would go for anything that I wanted to do. Their would be no line ups or "they made me come here to do family photos" photos.

The idea of capturing a family photo session centered around a family picnic & treasure hunt just added to the fun. I love these kind of family shoots. I am sure these kids will remember this day for a long time. Not because I took the photos to show them and help them remember, but because Janice & Paul are amazing parents with lots of love for these two special children. They will remember this for years to come because of the fun and excitement involved. Neither one of them stopped smiling from the start of the shoot to the very end, even when they hugged me when I left.

I hope they grow up realizing how much Janice & Paul love them & carry that love through many years and pass it on to many people.

Life is all about real moments as they happen. I love capturing those moments especially when it is a warm summer evening, with a bonfire roaring in the background. I loved the idea of doing this shoot capturing all the fun surrounding a bonfire. Who doesn't love the relaxing sound of a crackling fire!?

I met Dawn & Robbie to shoot their Maternity Session which seems like yesterday, and then to capture little Cooper in the Newborn Session! I cannot believe how fast time passes, little Cooper is growing so fast, and I am glad I have captured him from the beginning. I was excited to meet & do a session with the rest of their family!

This particular "Photo Tour" morning I woke up to the site of Sandra's children running to the bus with school bags & lunches in hand. They all boarded the school bus and the oldest getting on that bus waited to make sure everyone boarded, and then boarded herself. I hadn't officially met the children yet, but knew they would be awesome. We had gotten in late the night before and the children were all asleep. When the children arrived home later that day, Jodi & I finally got to meet them.

The Regier Family which consists of 5 children, a dog, a cat and a budgie bird were a joy to be around. All 5 children, yes 5!! were amazing. Some characteristics of these children were outgoing, confident, humorous, talented, smart, well adjusted, loving, beautiful & creative. I was in awe of the family unit that they had created at this house. We sat down to supper at 6 o'clock at the table, tv is turned off, and they prayed, again I was in awe. This was not a scene that was created for Jodi & I, this happens nightly, which impressed me. As I grew up, our suppers were the same, every night we waited for Dad to come home and we then ate supper. It was part of our daily routine, and looking back I do love those times!

So when I had heard that this family had never had many family photos done, Jodi & I were all over it. We had very limited time to do this because Sandra (whose Studio I blogged here) had a shoot that night. We did the entire shoot in the back field behind there house. I hope you enjoy these shots as much as I enjoyed making them.
