Down East. Yep, I fell in love with down East. It was the welcoming, happy smiles that I encountered all day long, even while it was down pouring and horrible outside. The beach and the scenery were beautiful and very picturesque. The two families just smiled and laughed all day long right through thunder, lightening and torrential rains. Who wouldn't fall in love with this kind of a group? They were fun loving, easy to make laugh and they smiled all day! Can anyone ask for a better career than doing what I am doing & loving every minute of it??

Congratulations JoEllen & Jarret! I hope all the Love & Happiness that you and your family and friends deserves makes it way down East to you all :-)

When I first met Brett, it was a few years ago, it was like talking to a grown up. In the last few years I have seen changes, and he has grown into more of a unique teenager than I ever could have imagined.

I can talk about anything with this 14 year old. He has the smarts, the ambition, the skills to go very far in this world, and the passion that he has for life grows every day.

Brett is a student at wonderful Ridley College in St. Catharine's, Ontario. Brett was really excited to hear that he was asked to be part of their hockey team at Ridley. He had worked very hard and focused on the going to a private school for hockey.

Brett knew there would be challenges and it would be hard to leave his loving family. Brett and his family made the journey from his home in Prince Edward Island to St. Catharine's, and of course as his excitement grew so did reality. Brett would be living alone within a few days and he didn't know what to expect.

The warm community of Ridley was very welcoming and the busy schedule didn't really allow Brett to be homesick. He called his parents every night and continues to do that still today. The first time he flew home to beautiful Prince Edward Island, it seemed like the soil was a little more, red and the grass was a little greener. It was kind of weird in the way that before Brett had left P.E.I he didn't really notice the fantastic rolling fields that the island presents. Or the wonderful people that make the island what it is today.. It seemed that Brett learned in the process of living away, that you really do appreciate things in life more, when you live without the simple every day things and you have to do stuff for yourself. If Brett didn't realize that he had to be more independent living away, he could have been struggling being away from home. As hard as it was for him being away from home, the support from his parents, peers, and teachers is what shaped him to be the kind of person he is today.

Brett1.jpgBrett2.jpg
Brett is now in his second year at Ridley and was very excited this year to go back and see all of his friends and get back into the routine of school.

All the best to you Brett. I am sure that you are not far from more of your dreams coming true. You have every way of making them happen. You are a very special young man and I am proud to say that I know you and your family.

The night is here. The one a lot of us have been wondering about and waiting for since last spring. Who is not going to make it through alive after the heart wrenching season finale of Grey's Anatomy? Most fans of the show that I know were gathered together watching the finale last year. I thought it was one of their greatest episodes to date. Actually I think it was one of my favorite season finales of all times. I am sure we actually screamed when we figured out that it was George who was in that bed dying. Through the tears of disbelief and shock, no one could believe our eyes and ears.

"007"...as he wrote on the palm of Meredith...I still get shivers up my spine to think of how it all played out. Now I know that some people do not get to know the characters or will say that "it is only a show". I am the opposite. I feel like some of the characters on these television shows are so real that they convince me that their lives and personalities are real. Plus the simple fact is that I am sometimes overly empathetic and a complete sap.

So the Kleenex is ready, the wine is room temperature and I gather with a group for friends to watch the season opener of Grey's Anatomy. Soon the face book & twitter updates will begin lighting up with reviews and hopefully excitement.

Hopefully there will be less tears than in the season finale, but it will still be as riveting and shocking. I think the finale will be a hard one to top. If you have spoilers I don't want to see or hear them, don't send them to me or make comments with them. I want to watch the show as it happens! But I would love to hear if you watched with friends and what you thought of it.

Share with me how you felt about the season premier & how you watched with friends, and have a chance to win! All you have to do is post a comment on this story on my blog. I will do a random draw for $25 Gift Certificate! Closing is at midnight Friday night the 25th!

**Update: Winner has been randomly chosen - Congratulations goes to Lori MacFarlane of Nova Scotia! Enjoy your gift certificate Lori and thanks so much for following the blog!

Did you say it? I love you. I don't want to live without you. You changed my life. Did you say it? Make a plan, set a goal, work toward it. But every now and then look around. Drink it in.

Cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow

Melanie Ellis:

If anyone wants to know how it feels to be given new hope...to be given life again...conflicted, aimless, and deep. What do you do on borrowed time...you live.
Just watch Izzy...I am Izzy...ten years post treatment...

It was deep without being contrived, it was poignant without being over the top...

Love the writing...love the intensity...they keep it real.
I know...from experience.
I hope you enjolyed it as much as I...
Live, love, laugh!

grey girl no belly:

I thought the season premiere started strong...kinda fizzled but who cares? it was 2 hrs of new entertainment. i still can't believe there will be no george! izzie is as hot as ever....and meredith looked great but i always get emotional when she cries! hopefully they will disinfect the kitchen counter!!

(09.25.09)
Louise Wilson:

I watched the season opener, It was pretty good. There was a lot of emotion that the characters play very well. There really weren't any surprises though. It was your typical Greys show. Which of course I love! I do hope they concentrate more on Izzy and her relationship, because I am over the whole Meredith and Derek thing. Overall thoughts: It was a good season opener, hopefully bigger and better to come!

(09.25.09)
Sharon Foster:

I started watching with my little family of four. It started ok but then got stupid around half way through so I went to bed.

(09.25.09)
grey girl no belly:

oh, and btw, yes, i've said it. i always try to "say it".

(09.25.09)
Jennifer Collings:

I thought that Grey's was good, but I am gonna miss George. I guess I didn't realize how much I liked that character until it was too late. I like that Meredith and Derek are acting like newlyweds because it makes them actually seem a bit like a normal couple which they haven't don't anything normal so that is nice for a change.

(09.25.09)
Karen C:

I adore Callie...do you think her and McSteamy will continue to hook up now that Little Grey is living with him?? Please say YES!!

(09.25.09)
Lauren Lawson:

I thought the show was a bit of a let down compared to the finale. Then again, what could top that finale?

(09.25.09)
Christy:

I love your blog but not Grey's anatomy. After reading this I downloaded last season and am going to watch. Will get back to you!

(09.25.09)
Jennifer MacLeod:

How can you make a box of tissue look this great? And did you cry and use the whole box last night? I thought the season opener was ok but lacked something.

(09.25.09)
Luisa V.:

What was with all the laughing at the funeral, that was dumb. I liked the rest of the show though.

(09.25.09)
Stacey Marshell:

I hope to see Karev (sp) fall deeply in love with Izzy and show her that he is.

(09.25.09)
Lori MacFarlane:

MacSteamy, MacDreamy...they are all hot...oh wait we were reviewing the show not the actors. Show was ok, I LOVED the finale.

(09.25.09)
Michael:

Love your photography, but Grey's Anatomy isn't my thing. My wife loves it though, and she seemed happy last night.

(09.25.09)
Sam:

So glad Izzy lives. I love her character.

(09.25.09)
Grey's Fan:

I was so excited to watch last night, I thought the laughing was a bit weird too but it kinda shows how they all hold in their feeling so much that the wrong ones come out at times. I bawled when Izzy told the girl who George saved to go live.

(09.25.09)
Callie Fan:

Callie is so great in that show and I hope that she stays with Arizona forever. They are so perfect together. I could see how Little Grey would be worried though.

(09.25.09)
Terri B.:

I love this show. Had a girls night last night to celebrate its return. It is much more fun watching it with others.

(09.25.09)
Chrissy:

Best show...it is the only one I watch.

(09.25.09)
Laurie:

I missed McDreamy...glad he is back!

Melissa, who is the owner of Suncity in Charlottetown, is a beauty. I was super excited when she was pumped to do an Empower the Dress session with me in one of her 2 wedding dresses. Yes 1 of 2! She had bought one and then a short while before the wedding fell in love with a second one. Melissa couldn't get the second dress off of her mind and so with the encouragement of a few people in life, she bought it! Of course it was beautiful and so was she!

Empower the Dress sessions are awesome and so much fun to do. You just get to relax and take some further photos with your dress. Brides are always more relaxed doing this after the wedding, and it a great idea to give your dress a little more attention that it deserves.

Sunday Dinners & Football go together like peas in a pod. Everyone knows that football season has begun and that means the frenzy of Sunday gatherings with lots and lots of great food involved as well. My whole family are amazing cooks, so there is always a ton of great food around. This Sunday's menu included slow cooked Ribs with a delicious sauce that no one can create like my sister, sweet corn, peas, roasted potatoes, and corn bread. Wait let's not forget the pumpkin pie! I should have walked the 15km's or so to my parents and walked back home again.

The very best thing about football season besides the obvious, is that Sunday's are always with friends and/or family. It is a guarantee that the gathering will start around noon and last until well into the evening. Everyone has their own team, and cheers for them, jerseys are worn, and the odd trash talk is spoken. Pools are checked and rechecked while the smell of supper is cooking and the cool fall weather creeps in.

Football season is the funnest season of the year. I love it, and even though my Chiefs are 0-2, I will continue to support and cheer for them cause I am just that kinda girl! At least no one can ever accuse me of being a bandwagon jumper!!

anti-pea girl:

I haven't eaten peas since 1983, when I worked at at Pea processing plant. Your green peas are pretty on the red table, though. Just saying.
