Yes, I may be on a kick after seeing what happened to a well known photographer that I love and follow. Sarah Quiara is a photographer out of Texas. Sarah was called today to be informed that her images were being used on a website as another photographer's who names herself Vintage Rubies Photography out of Los Angelas. Being always worried about this happening to my images, I felt her pain. Someone actually went out of her way, stole Sarah's images and claims them as her own. The very worst part about this is that the bulk of the images that she stole were of Sarah's daughter. This made me irate.
Not only did the photographer steal Sarah's but it is now coming to the surface that a few other photographers were affected as well and a list of sites that they were on is more than just the one.
To me...if I didn't take the image, there would be no glory in showing it off as my own or acting as if it were my own. I also feel bad for the clients who expected to get the work done by Sarah Q and ended up with a thief's work instead.
Please do not steal others work, in any industry especially photography where our images are our eye to the soul. Please do not post on profiles and website without mentioning the photographer on every single image. Photographers see things differently than others, and work very hard to create these special images.
Show her some love and support and follow her on twitter at http://twitter.com/SarahQ
