This weekend turned into a eventful one, this just after getting over the flu. I had a Empower the Dress session out at a rocky beach with a couple that are now good friends of mine. I had photographed their wedding and were celebrating their three year anniversary and wanted to  celebrate in a special way. They are so in love and wanted to show that the dress was only a small part of the day. They decided on a Empower the Dress session with me, in which the extent of "trashing" is up to the client! Some want to go right into the water, others just want to feel like a supermodel at a fashion shoot in a more urban setting!

This fun and relaxed photo shoot, will let you bring out the best of your personal style, with funky and energetic photos. This session can be all about you, or you can grab your new husband and bring him in on the fun. Jenn wanted some photos of herself along with some with Tim in them!

Everything was going as planned, I was taking some shots, checking out the surroundings etc. What happened next was all so fast that I didn't even know what happened. Literally. I had fallen down the rocks of the breakwater and smashed my head and ear off of some rocks. Just moments before "Cheetah", the lovable monkey in the photo below had been secured to my backpack for safe keeping. Little did I know he would save me and keep me, not visa versa. If that teddy monkey hadn't been secured to my backpack, I may not be here, my head would have easily been opened up and I could be in a lot worst shape. He had served as a barrier between my neck/head/ears and the rocks.

When I woke up, Jenn & Tim were standing there. All I saw were feet. I was confused, dazed and pretty nauseous. I sat for a while and while the fog cleared kept on wondering what my next shot would be. We finished the shoot because I convinced them that I was ok.

Later on that evening, after a ton of complete confusing conversation and pressure around me, I decided to get myself checked out at the Emergency Room. The Doctor couldn't believe that I had to make the decision to come in. It was a concussion and I would need to take it easy for the next while. I had to get a tetanus shot because of the open cuts on my hand and arm.

I am feeling quite a bit better today but very sore and still a bit confused. It makes me very grateful that this incident happened and I was reasonably ok, or well enough to take something good from the painful incident. Through the nauseousness and fog, I still feel that the Universe has something planned for me, and a bump on the head isn't going to stop me find out what it is.

I am posting a photo, of the hero, "Cheetah" who very well saved my  life. I will have more photos from the shoot coming along soon.
