The holiday was started early in the twentieth century to commemorate the roles that fathers played in parenting their children and to complement Mother's Day celebrations. Gifts are usually given and there are family oriented activities and special dinners for many fathers.

The Father's Day is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad -the special man in our life. We often forget the sacrifice of our fathers and the roles they have played in shaping our lives. Father's Day gives us the opportunity to show and express our love and care to this man, who deserves our support most.

I have so many great things to say about my Dad, where do I begin?

My Dad is the most gentle, wise, loyal, proud, unknowingly comical, sweetest dad of all time. A soft spoken "Taker' easy" every time I leave the house, is an "I love you".
I have heard more than once from others, including friends that I am lucky to have my dad as MY DAD; and believe me I am well aware of how lucky I am. I could not be more grateful.

I will be spending the day with my dad, and hope all of you are as well.
