Well I woke up this morning and all of a sudden it felt like Christmas. We had about 10 cm's of snow over night, and the ground was covered in the white stuff. I unlike, my Sparky Ming Ming (SMM) was not excited over this blanket of snow. Conversation between Sparky Ming Ming and myself is as follows:

SMM: Reeeschell, you can take pictures of me making snow angles!

Myself: Oh SMM, that is a great idea, sounds fun.

SMM: Well you can if you want to!

Myself: I never made a snow angel before.

SMM: We could make a snowman too! I will show you how to make a snow angel!

Some people seem a little more excited about snow than myself. Sparky Ming Ming also told me to wear snow pants, gloves, hat, scarf and make sure I had my winter boots on, not my summer ones. I guess she knows me well.

So how could I turn down an invitation to take pictures of her in the first snowfall of the year!? Look at that cute face with the puppy ears!!!

Dawn & Robbie were awesome to work with during their pregnancy and were up for anything. It was a beautiful summer night when I took these photos for them. I think after yesterday's snow, I started to think back of all the sessions I hadn't posted yet that were done during this past summer. You know summer - when it is sunny and warm. Not winter when it is cold and snowy.

I love doing maternity sessions outdoors because they can become much more exciting than in front of a cloth background. Of course having our beautiful island as a backdrop definitely helps! These were taken at Lakeside beach where a lot of my beach sessions are help. It was around 7 or 8 o'clock at night to capture that beautiful golden light.

Oh and if you seen the cute little baby that was on my Cans for Comments post, that is the new little son of Dawn & Robbie. Welcome to the world, Cooper MacNeill Bradley...born on October 29, 2009. I will be doing a bog post on little Cooper in the next few days as well.

Chloe loves her shoes and she is only one and a half years old. She has a drawer full of them, that her grandmother buys her and continues to replenish. I believe at last count, Chloe had 30 some pairs of shoes. She just looks at you with those unbelievable blue eyes and mutters "shoes, shoes".

The last time I had a visit with my sweet blue eyed Chlo Chlo, she started to take all of her shoes out of the drawer to show me. Of course I had my camera with me and thought this should be documented for later when she grows up and needs to see when her shoe obsession started.

Little Chloe has got to be the sweetest little girl in the world. She is very special and very loved!

Yo Yo Yo Cyber World!!! From Today until December 18th I will be doing a "Cans for Comments" Bonanza! For every comment left on my blog I will donate one can of food to our food bank in Charlottetown. If I get lots of comments from Summerside West I may even split the cans, and donate up there as well! Their is no limit to how many cans of food I will donate.

Remember that Christmas can be great for many of us...and not so great for others. It is a great time of year to realize what you have, and for many what you don't have. Let's make giving happen all year round!

So it is simple...comment ANYWHERE on my blog and it will be tracked from today forward. Helping someone this holiday season has never been easier. Grab a coffee and start commenting!

Mother Teresa said it best - "If you can't feed a hundred people, just feed one
"

Here is a pic to get you started!

Just a few years ago, Holly Martin couldn't walk a city block without stopping to catch her breath. Now, she can run 10 K without stopping and just made the run of her life when she carried the Olympic Flame in downtown Charlottetown on November 22.

"I felt that there had been a mistake!" was Holly's first impression.  "It seemed like an impossibility; that I would even be considered as a torch bearer. So, to have my coworkers present me with the news that I had been selected, simply overwhelmed me."

However, the Network Operations Customer Service Manager from Stratford PEI, has really earned her coworkers admiration over the past 3 ½ years. She joined a program called UFIT, lost 130 pounds and has become a role model for others looking to take the first step towards a more active and healthier lifestyle.

"I attend that hour-long class daily, and it has helped me become strong so I can pursue other athletic goals," Holly explained.  "At 42, I can run 10 K now - something I couldn't do even when I was in my twenties."

For Holly, the Olympic Flame is a symbol of excellence that she doesn't take lightly. She believes it's not just a reflection on winning, but the integrity through which we compete - in sport and in life. That's why, in addition to her new-found commitment to fitness, she continues to share her time through the Bell Aliant Pioneers and other charitable causes.

"Helping those in need in the community has always been a priority to me," she said. "So as long as I am able, I will dedicate a small part of my life in improving the lives of others. I'm hoping that others will do the same."

Holly  hopes her moment of Olympic glory serves as an inspiration for all her friends, family and co-workers as they strive to achieve their goals.
"I've brought honor to myself by wanting to give back to those who have helped me achieve my goals," she says. "Perhaps by exhibiting the Olympic Spirit I can help improve the lives of others, one small step at a time."

I met Holly at the Ufit classes which I mention quite a bit on my blog and on facebook. Holly was the spunky one who would get in the middle and teach for a bit. I always admired that she could do that, and secretly wished that someday I could! Holly contacted me for photos that would possibly appear on the Aliant website. I didn't know what the reason for the new photos was but I was excited to hang out with her spunkiness for a bit and accepted. As we walked around downtown Charlottetown, taking photos and laughing, she told me about the torch-bearing opportunity and that she was nominated by her coworkers. I was in awe. Losing 130 pounds and not a spec of spirit, my heart grew. I said to her when she left, I know this is why I love my photography. I get to meet amazing people, and hear their amazing stories. I was very disappointed that I could not make the torch bearing ceremony, but believe me Holly, I am none the less proud of your accomplishments this past Sunday and am glad that we were brought to meet via ufit!
