Ron Switzer and bass player for Haywire tell us, "With performers completely donating their time and talents, and the support of the Island community and corporations, 100% of your donations will be given to the Red Cross.  With ticket sales and donations at the door, we know we can reach our goal to raise $10,000 for relief in Haiti."

"Haywire welcomes this opportunity to help in this time of need;" expresses David Rashed, keyboard player for Haywire and Committee Co-Chair, Island Artists Unite for Haiti. "And to share the stage with some of the Island's best performers is going to make for an exciting night of music."

The Canadian Red Cross is mobilizing to support relief efforts in Haiti--providing medical support, clean water, food and shelter to people who have lost everything.  Since the earthquake struck, more than 400 International Red Cross workers have hit the ground in Haiti (including 12 trained emergency response workers), along with 70 tons of food, water and medical supplies.

So Julie & Matt are the cutest. I should have a contest to see what couple of mine is the cutest. Oh my, that would never work. I think they are all the cutest. Cute to me doesn't just describe physical features, but mental features as well and how people interact. Some examples of cute would be how Matt would be sweet to Julie .... or how Julie would look and giggle at Matt...CUTE! Of course they are physically cute as well as you can see below!

Engagement Sessions are so important...to both me and my couples. I get to spend a little time with my cute couples and see how they react to my studdering and foolishness and to each other all the while getting some fun shots of them. I think engagement sessions are important to the couple as well so they can relax regarding the photography portion of the wedding day knowing that photography is not going to be a concern. I love seeing people in love and feel so comfortable around each other.

That is how I would describe these two. It was almost as if the world around them fell away as soon as they were close. It was like I wasn't even there, which I loved because I captured their love for real.

P.S I love being a photographer of love.

P.S.S No one ever said I was a writer ;-)

All those classes when you didn't want to exercise or even be there, but when you arrived, you got this burst of invisible excitement and energy, well we have to give some of it back. UFIT is being battled with extreme rental increases and space limitations for the classes. I cannot understand how they would want to stop or limit this amazing class from happening, when the benefits to a healthy PEI are so strong. Having a healthy PEI can only make us a stronger PEI.

Eireann Rigby, the owner of UFIT, is an amazing soul that will help you become healthy in whatever way she can. Her incredible spirit and love for fitness created UFIT into the safe, happy, healthy place that it is today. Eireann's commitment to UFIT, healthy & community helped UFIT win the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award for 2009. Please take a look at the blog entry congratulating Eireann on an awesome job well done!

The new policy states that:

-UFIT can ONLY access the gym 3 times per week in any one School
-UFIT will have NO ACCESS to the gym during Holidays, storm days, March and X-mas break and Summer Vacation.
-UFIT will pay have to pay triple the National Standard for rental fees. This fee would in effect put us out immediately in Montague and St. Jean.

Anyone who has been to UFIT knows all to well the benefits of the classes, not just physically but the emotional help that comes along with it. I have blogged them before, but now they really need our help to continue helping us. Personally, UFIT has helped me so many times mentally and physically.

The three people below need to become aware why you love UFIT and how it is has changed your life and the community. You can contact them via email and let them know your opposition to the changes.

1) Dr. Alex (Sandy) MacDonald, Superintendent
    agmacdonald@edu.pe.ca

2) Mr. Robert S. Clow
    Board Chairperson
    bsclow@gov.pe.ca
    rsclow@bellaliant.net

3) Marjorie Steves
    Director of Corporate Services
    mesteeves@edu.pe.ca

Take a look at the photos that I captured during a UFIT class. If you look closely, or maybe you don't even need to look that close. Notice all the smiling and happiness. I for one cannot explain to you how happy UFIT makes me and how I would be extremely disappointed to hear of it being limited. Let's stick together and let people know how important UFIT is to all of us.

Kim "MSMF":

As someone who is working hard to be a healthy person, which is a huge struggle. It is really disappointing to see that anyone would try to hurt such a wonderful organization. We should be encouraging Eirann and her company for helping Islanders get fit. I know I will definitely be writing to those individuals.

Oh these two are the cutest pets ever!

"Tucka Wucka Woo Woo" just wants to make friends and play. He thinks everyone would want to play with him at all times, with no reason not to. Tucka will jump and jump and jump some more until you notice him. The other day when I went over to my brother's house to visit my nieces for a quick second, Tucka noticed I had my camera. He went into pose mode. I think he likes the camera! While I was their the girls showed me something that he does that is hilarious. Tucka runs down the stairs with only 3 legs, holding one leg in the air. He doesn't do it going up the stairs and he doesn't have an injury. We have no idea why he does this, but it sure makes us laugh. Tucka is pretty sweet, and is just full of love.

"Jackson Ole Boy" has a British Accent and is very particular. Well, we think if he could talk he would have an accent. Jackson has been around for quite some time, since my niece Madison was very little. We all loved him from the minute he came in to the house. He is very unique and I call him the "accordion" cat sometimes because he goes into "stretch & go limp - i will play dead and they let me be mode". He is the snuggliest most loving cat around. He has perfectly black lined lips and eyes, with perfect eyelashes that would make any of us swoon. Jackson also went into model mode when I arrived with my camera!

I grew up having pets and I cannot imagine life without them. I named my first little dog "happy". Happy even came with us when I lived in Edmonton for a while growing up! Pets are important part of growing up and I love them!
